Have questions about how we work, what to expect, or whether Palomar Advisors is right for you? You’re not alone. We’ve answered some of the most common questions here to help you feel more informed as you take your next step.

What is Private Wealth Management?

Private Wealth Management is a comprehensive approach to coordinating all aspects of your financial life, investments, cash flow, tax strategy, retirement planning, estate considerations, and major life decisions, into one integrated plan. The goal is to help you make confident decisions and stay aligned with what matters most to you over time.

Who is Private Wealth Management designed for?

Our services are designed for individuals, families, and business owners who want a more intentional and coordinated approach to managing wealth, especially those navigating complexity, major transitions, or long-term planning goals.

How is Private Wealth Management different from traditional financial advising?

Traditional advising often focuses primarily on investments. Private Wealth Management goes further by integrating investments with tax planning, retirement strategy, estate planning, and life planning, so decisions in one area support all others.

What services are included?

Private wealth management includes:

  • Cash Flow & Balance Sheet Management
  • Investment Management
  • Retirement Planning
  • Tax Planning & Coordination
  • Estate & Legacy Planning
  • Philanthropic & Charitable Planning
  • Risk Management & Insurance Planning
  • Family Office-Style Coordination
  • Ongoing Advice & Accountability
  • Business Exit Planning

All services are tailored to your specific situation and evolve as your life changes.

How do you get to know our goals and priorities?

We begin with a discovery process that focuses on understanding your values, goals, concerns, and financial picture. This allows us to build strategies that are personal, intentional, and aligned with your life, not just your balance sheet.

How are investment decisions made?

Investment strategies are built around your goals, time horizon, and comfort with risk. Portfolios are diversified, monitored, and adjusted over time to stay aligned as markets and life circumstances change.

How often will we meet?

Meeting frequency depends on your needs, but most clients meet at least annually, with additional meetings around life events, major decisions, or planning updates. Ongoing communication is always available.

Do you work with our CPA or estate attorney?

Yes. We regularly collaborate with your existing advisors to ensure your financial plan is coordinated across taxes, legal structures, and long-term planning. If you don’t have those professionals, we can help facilitate introductions.

How are you compensated?

Compensation is transparent and typically based on an advisory fee structure. We clearly explain fees upfront so you understand how we are paid and how that aligns with the services provided.

What does the onboarding process look like?

Onboarding includes an initial discovery meeting, data gathering, analysis, and the presentation of a coordinated plan. From there, we implement strategies and begin ongoing management and review.

How do we get started?

Getting started begins with a conversation. We’ll discuss your goals, answer questions, and determine whether Private Wealth Management is the right fit for you.
